I’ve got my Press-on clad thumb on the pulse of what’s happening in Denver’s Drag Scene. Im here to help with what’s happening on the scene and secrets of a beauty queen. Denver seems to be experiencing a Drag renaissance. From Fundraisers to just plane fun, we have a lot of entertainment at our finger tips.
Happy belated Pride , ya’ll! The 35th Anniversary of the Denver PrideFest was held in the center of our city’s government. Civic Center Park hosted over 275,000 people from all over the Colorado and surrounding states. Of course, Denver’s illusionist extraordinaires lead us through the celebrations. Friday June 18 Tracks Night Club hosted its monthly Drama Drag a little earlier in the month to celebrate Pride. Nina Flowers invited fellow Rupaul’s Drag Race alum Morgan McMichaels. Girl gave us a FAB show!!!!! Saturday June 19th, Tracks Night Club is hosted its annual Pride celebration with DJ Tony Moran and Dj FLOWERS (yes, Thee Nina Flowers… Mayor Hickenlooper gave her a key to the city and a Nina Flowers day, May 29th). There was a greek god theme. It was OVAH gurl!!!
Rounding out the weekend on Sunday June 20th, the gurls from Drama Drag (Tracks), Vivid (Charlie’s), BJ’s, and the Dreamgirls (Hamburger Mary’s) painted the town pink. They helped give face at the parade route which started at Cheeseman Park and made its way down Colfax ending at the steps of the Capital building. Nina Montaldo, as seen at the Vivid Show at Charlies opened for the group. She helped get the record crowd nice and warm for the R&B super stars. The Drama Drag gurls, Nina Flowers, Felony Misdemeanor, Kiera Sexton, Angelina SX, Sebastion M, and Blade Mathews finished the crowd off with a one of kind send off. The weekend was LEGENDARY!
Now I have to click my size 12 heels and blast off. My galaxy awaits. Remeber, LEARN IT AND LEARN IT WELL. IT’S GOING TO BE OVAH!
