This Friday, January 23rd The Lakewood Cultural Center will be showing casing the work of artist Chris Krieg. Krieg is a long-time local artist who began his artistry not just on canvas but as a billboard painter in New York as well as being a sign maker here in Denver. His format is large and his paintings are on the cutting edge. Kreig is able to either capture a moment in time or find humorous ways to transform a familiar iconic image; his artwork has a bit of something for everyone. The Lakewood Cultural Center is located at 470 S. Allison Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80226 with the Opening Reception is Tonight, Friday, 5p.m. – 7 p.m. This is a must attend event as Chris will be unveiling his most recent works. Show runs through March 29th.

Magic happens with Stories Stories Bring Your Stories every 4th Tuesday of each month. It’s a little bit theatre and a lot of fun. January 27 is the date this month so prepare yourself for “Tales, Tellings and Fiction Live on Stage” in the Jungle Room of the Mercury Café. “Each artist showcases work that reflects their unique experiences living in the Midwest and Mountain States.” The exhibit runs February 3 – March 7, 2015, with several receptions to meet your schedule.

The second, “Art Toys “R’ Us” featuring the whimsical work of Yoshitomo Saito. This show Saito “reimagines familiar sculptures created by modern and contemporary artists in this series.” This show also runs February 3 – March 7, 2015, also with several receptions to meet your schedule.
