It’s another gorgeous week here in the Mile High City, and we’ve got some fabulous shows coming up to go and catch. Here are some highlights:
New Orleans neo-soul outfit J & The Causeways are finishing up the first leg of their Motions tour this weekend, and they’re gracing us with four total stops across Colorado to celebrate! Named after their recently-released eponymous debut album, the tour starts with a set at Cervantes’ Other Side on 7/16 with The Parrisian Live Band getting things going. From there, they’ll head to Ridgeway, then on to a set a Schmiggity’s in Steamboat, and finally finishing off this run of shows at the Fox Theater up in Boulder on 7/19 with the ever-funky Pamlico Sound opening that show up. Definitely get to one of these incredible sets.
Underground hip-hop master Open Mike Eagle is rolling into town as part of his NGU tour with a show at Lost Lake on 7/17. Known for his prolific solo work as well as feature and production credits with artists like MF Doom, Aesop Rock and Blockhead, Open Mike Eagle promises a rippin’ performance. He’ll have both Cavalier and Rhys Langston on deck too, so get out to Lost Lake this Thursday!
German producer Christian Löffler is partnering with This Never Happened to throw his debut TNH release Free at the Larimer Lounge on 7/18. A no-photo and no-phone event, this will be a real special one! Christian will have Shallou, John Hayes and Hayyoo getting the dance floor fired up early, so leave the technology at home and pop by Larimer Lounge Saturday Night.
