Q: How does the energy of Denver and/or Red Rocks’ audience compare to other cities on your tour?

A: The energy at red rocks is always otherworldly and mystical, I mean, it is the birthplace of the known universe! Scientists and theologians have discovered and proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that Red Rocks is the birth canal thru which all of life/matter has and will always pass on its way into this known universe- so that’s a pretty amazing place to play inside of! Also, the folks in Denver have a beautiful spirit that always feels fresh and new and open minded every time we are lucky enough to see them again and sing together. There is a lot of very powerful energy afoot there in the Denver general metro area!

Q: What’s your go-to pre-show ritual before hitting the stage?

A: I like to kneel down on the rocks and pray to the spirits there to ask for guidance and also tell them that we are so grateful to be there and that we will flow with whatever they throw at us and together we will give birth to some new and wondrous musical adventures.

Q: Have you had a chance to explore Denver? Any favorite spots so far?

A: Oh yes I have been to Denver many times now- I love exploring the Denver art museum, the ship tavern at the brown palace hotel, we always try to hit Frasca or Tavernetta when in the general Boulder/Denver area, and just flowing around the neighborhoods feeling the vibe, as well as taking hikes around the majestic red rocks in the red rocks park and nature around there.

Q: Your latest album has resonated with fans worldwide—how has the tour experience deepened your connection to your music?

A: Well, making an album is like giving birth to new songs, then playing those songs live is like watching them grow up, you get to spend time with them, learn their likes and dislikes, learn their strengths and weaknesses, get to know them as people.

Q: What has been the most unexpected moment during your tour so far?

A: Every day is magical and unexpected! You never know which day may be your last so I try to stay present and listen to the universe and try to flow with it as best I can to best be of service while on this planet this time.

Q: How do you keep up your creative energy while touring?

A: Most creative energy for me is dedicated to the live performance and creating new experiences within that performance realm on stage. I put so much energy into that I don’t really write or record a lot on the road.

Q: Is there a song in your setlist that you’re especially excited to perform for your Denver fans?

A: We are always so excited and grateful to play, and it is such a huge honor to play at Red Rocks, so it’s just pretty exciting overall being there merging with all of those spirits, and sometimes communing with the dead or ancestors who have gone before, Red Rocks is an easy place for them to visit and so it is nice to meet up with them there again. All of that energy is so powerful and healing and transportive! It is so amazing to touch the pulse of the place where we all come from- scientists and theologians have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that Red Rocks is the birth canal of the known universe and everything in it! sSo wild to get to play up inside it!

Q: Touring can be intense—what do you do to unwind and recharge during breaks?

A: I try to get out into nature and hike or sit by a tree. I read a lot and try to watch a lot of severance to relax.

Q: What message or feeling do you hope fans leave with after your performance in Denver / at Red Rocks?

A: We want to be a source of peace and joy and comfort and fun. we want to broadcast a vibe of healing and togetherness, a feeling that everyone is welcome in our world and that hopefully everyone will make some new friends and feel some peace or healing from the music and be transported into the great field of energy from which we all come and to which we will all return.
