The Lowdown: Rock and roll cover band Hairball is coming on through from Minnesota. Hairball is made of Happy (lead guitar, vocals), HBK (bass and vocals), Billy (drums), Kris Vox (lead singer who performs as Paul Stanley and Rob Halford) and Joe Dandy (lead singer who performs as David Lee Roth and Ozzy Ozbourne). The band members dress as the artists they are covering, which includes Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey and Aerosmith.

The Daryl Gott Quintet

The Lowdown: Orchids are abloom! The Denver Botanic Gardens’ collection of hundreds of orchids are showcased through Feb. 17, making perfect timing for a Valentine’s Day activity. You can view the Orchid Showcase through admission to the Gardens. On select dates, Fantasy Orchids, a Colorado orchid grower, will be in the Orangery selling orchids. Visitors can also enter photos taken at the Orchid Showcase for a chance to win an orchid from the display and a gift card from the contest sponsor, Mike’s Camera.
