The Lowdown: Stem Cider partners with The Long I Pie Shop for Pie & Cider. The pairing features four mini pies paired with four ciders to taste. You can try a combination of sweet and savory pies that go perfectly with each different cider.

Slow Food Mexico

The Lowdown: Lola Coastal Mexican presents a night of Slow Food Mexico. Master chef Benedicta Alejo Vargas creates a five-course menu with chef Jule Gaspar of Oaxaca to raise money for the Denver Slow Food Mexico team to go to Slow Food Nations. Cupcakes and Beer

The Lowdown: Call to Arms Brewing Company collaborates with Good Sugar Baking for Cupcakes and Beer. You can delight in a tasting of three beers paired with three cupcakes. A portion of the profits will go towards a nonprofit.
Big Trouble in Little ‘Gina

The Lowdown: Support female bartenders at Big Trouble in Little ‘Gina. Starting this Wednesday, Big Trouble in Zeppelin Station hosts two women behind the bar for a monthly relationship-building event. The first two featured women are Annemarie Sagoiand and A Minetta Gould. The event is sponsored by Diageo and proceeds will benefit The Gathering Place — a local center for women, children and transgender individuals who need somewhere safe.

Chicken Fight

The Lowdown: Start your summer right at Chicken Fight. The event features Denver restaurants like The Regional, Birdcall, Chicken Rebel, FNG and more competing for the titles of best wings, fried chicken and best chicken dishes in the Mile High City. You can also listen to live music, watch demos and more. You will vote to choose who is the best by tasting bite-sized bits from each vendor.

Craft Cocktail Night

Beer + Banned Books

The Lowdown: Take a taste of the forbidden at Beer + Banned Books. The first beer and book featured are Fahrenheit 451. The beer is a tart Mexican lager with aged tequila, soaked American oak staves and roasted Fresno peppers to give it a kick. The first 40 people to order a pint of the special beer will receive their own copy of the featured book.
Pig & Pint Night

The Lowdown: Rhein Haus presents Pig & Pint Night. A whole pig is roasted and combined with pairing plates to go along with Stone Brewing’s Tangerine Express IPA release. This event is the start of a series of Pig & Pint Nights.
