Things to Do in Denver This Weekend (August 14–16)

Mt. Joy brings its indie-rock sound to one of Colorado’s most iconic stages Friday night. The band will be joined by Leif Vollebekk and Arcy Drive, creating a stacked evening for fans of alternative and indie music.

Ready to trade the amphitheater for the dance floor? Dutch DJ and producer Nicky Romero heads to The Church on Friday night. Expect an electronic-heavy set and a late-night crowd at one of Denver’s most recognizable nightlife venues.

LCD Soundsystem returns to the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre for an outdoor night of dance-rock, electronic grooves and indie anthems. The legendary New York group will be joined by Canadian singer-songwriter Feist and Victoryland, making this one of the weekend’s biggest live music events.

Electronic music fans can head downtown for a late-night set from Mat Zo, the British producer and DJ known for blending progressive house, trance, drum and bass and other electronic influences into his sound.

Rising rapper Luh Tyler brings his contemporary hip-hop sound to the Marquis Theater Sunday. The smaller venue offers an opportunity to see the young artist up close before his stages get even bigger.

The concert features dynamic contemporary jazz big band originals and arrangements by Quincy Jones, Bill Holman, Thelonious Monk, Pat Metheny, and more.

Anchored by 16th Street from Denver Union Station to Glenarm Plaza, “Skynets Over Downtown” is a series of three site-specific floating kinetic sculptures, designed to be experienced together. Visitors can walk, roll, or cycle between the sites or use RTD’s 16th Street FreeRide to explore each artwork.​
