For six decades, the Denver Greek Festival has offered locals a passport to Greece without ever leaving the Mile High City. This weekend, the beloved cultural celebration returns bigger than ever as it commemorates its 60th anniversary with expanded dining experiences, enhanced entertainment and a renewed focus on hospitality.
Taking place June 5–7 at the Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the annual festival has become one of Colorado’s most cherished cultural traditions. Following a record-breaking year in attendance, organizers have introduced significant upgrades designed to improve the overall guest experience while preserving the authentic spirit that has made the event a local favorite.
Visitors can expect a larger festival footprint, expanded seating areas and streamlined entry options that make it easier than ever to explore the celebration. New transportation enhancements include additional free off-site parking with shuttle service, designated rideshare zones and bike parking accommodations.
Of course, food remains at the heart of the festival experience. This year, guests will find expanded kitchen operations, multiple gyro stations and upgraded equipment aimed at reducing wait times while serving up crowd favorites including gyros, spanakopita and kalamari.
A new indoor taverna experience joins additional covered outdoor dining areas, offering more opportunities to relax and enjoy authentic Greek flavors. Festivalgoers can indulge in traditional dishes such as souvlaki and pastitsio, alongside beloved desserts like baklava and loukoumades. Greek wines, beers and specialty beverages will also be available throughout the weekend.
Beyond the cuisine, the festival invites attendees to immerse themselves in Greek culture through live bouzouki music, traditional dance performances and interactive dance lessons. Guests can also enjoy cooking demonstrations, church tours, cultural exhibits and family-friendly activities designed to engage visitors of all ages.
Shopping enthusiasts will find plenty to explore in the expanded Greek Plaka marketplace, where 18 vendors will showcase handcrafted jewelry, artisan goods and imported products from Greece.
“Celebrating 60 years of the Denver Greek Festival is a remarkable milestone for our community,” said Father Jordan Brown, Presiding Priest at the Assumption Cathedral. “This festival is more than an event—it’s a living expression of our faith, culture and philoxenia, our tradition of warm hospitality.”
In a welcome move for families and festival fans, organizers have elected to keep admission and food pricing unchanged for 2026 despite rising costs across the entertainment industry.
The festival’s impact extends beyond the celebration itself. A portion of proceeds will benefit Urban Peak, supporting services and resources for youth experiencing homelessness throughout Colorado.
Admission is $5, seniors are $3 and children under 12 attend free. Festival hours run Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
