Colorado Gives Foundation is a community foundation with a mission to make good happen by connecting people, ideas and nonprofits. In Jefferson County (Jeffco), we partner with local nonprofits through various philanthropic tools, including grantmaking to help build resilient, connected and thriving communities. Statewide, we created ColoradoGives.org—a year-round giving platform that makes it easy for individuals and businesses to support nonprofits, and for nonprofits to raise the funds they need to grow their impact.

Book Arts League
For 25 years we’ve been teaching all ages and all backgrounds the artistic skills in bookmaking – from calligraphy & typography to printing & hand bookbinding. We reside within the historic Ewing Farm (owned by the city of Lafayette) and look after the building in exchange for the classroom space. We offer hands on instruction and guidance for students and the community at large. Our collection of historic equipment provides insights into the history of communication and is available for public use either in class or rented studio time.

Colorado Youth Mariachi Program
Colorado Youth Mariachi Program teaches mariachi music to youth between the ages of 7 and 23 years old and conducts performances around their community. Instruction includes lessons in trumpet, violin, guitar, voice, and traditional mariachi instruments vihuela and guitarron. Classes also include the history of mariachi, its culture and performance etiquette. Alongside classes, students have the opportunity to perform for their community at public events and travel to national mariachi workshops and conferences. Instruction is provided by trained music educators and experienced mariachi musicians.

The mission of Dogs Unbroken is to stabilize at-risk dogs in Colorado through a balanced training method. We help connect dogs to people to create a safe and confident home life.
