After a stunning half-time performance for the Nuggets in April of this year, the Red Bull BC One crew is returning to Denver this weekend —and this time, they’re choosing which b-boy and b-girl will represent at the World Final in Tokyo.
Red Bull BC One Will Choose U.S. Champion This Sunday

This weekend, Red Bull BC One returns to Denver for their Red Bull BC One USA Cypher and Camp at Mission Ballroom. The Cypher is a bracket-style competition where the USA’s top 16 b-boys and b-girls face off in a high-energy competition. The winners of this 1v1 battle will be crowned Red Bull BC One U.S. B-Boy and B-Girl champions, securing their spot in the Red Bull BC One World Final 2025 in Tokyo, Japan.
Red Bull BC One is the biggest, most prestigious breakdance competition in the world. This weekend, thousands of breakers will come together for a weekend of battles and workshops.
Hosted by Colorado Springs’ Bboy Ivan, the Cypher stands as the last event in Red Bull BC One’s 2025 U.S. run. This final battle will showcase the nation’s best in breaking, including regional winners and runner-ups from the Minneapolis and New York qualifiers and a line-up of elite invited contestants.
Leading up to tomorrow’s event, Red Bull BC One is hosting a number of workshops, where attendees can learn fundamental skills like DJ-ing, breaking, street fighting and footwork.
Additionally, other battles will place before the final Cypher, including a 2v2 battle featuring one breaker and one street fighter, as well as the all female-led and female-focused Salt Break City Battle. The Out For Fame US Qualifier Battle takes place Saturday the 17th, bringing together 5v5 crews to compete for a chance to be flown out to the Out For Fame World Championship in Tokyo by Pro Breaking Tour.
To prepare for a high-energy, high-pressure competition, members of the Red Bull BC One team sat down with 303 Magazine to share the battle day essentials that keep them confident on and off the floor.
Wardrobe Essentials: Professional Breaker Edition

As a fundamental segment of hip-hop culture, it’s no wonder that breakers are deeply ingrained in street style — both in competition and out of it. When breaking, the last thing the crew needs is to be held down by stiff fabrics or uncomfortable silhouettes. They also each have their own preferences for what helps them feeling confident during a competition.
Two world champion breakers, Ronnie Abaldonado and Logan “Logistix” Edra shared the gear that helps them stay present in a high-pressure environment.
Ronnie Abaldonado is a world-traveling battler, breaking for over 32 years. When he’s in battle, he prefers light gear for ease of movement: windbreakers, sweatpants, and crew neck sweaters.
His non-negotiable gear when he’s competition is a lightweight pair of shoes to help him stay quick on his feet. His go-tos are Nike LD-1000s or Nike Waffles, wardrobe must-haves that brought him all the way to winning the 2007 Red Bull BD One World Championships.

“Every breaker prefers different types of shoes. I like them thinner and lighter,” Abaldonado shared. “I started breaking when I was 10 years old, so I was light back then and I want to remain light.”

Logan “Logistix” Edra started breaking when she was just 7 years old. Now, she’s the 2021 Red Bull BC One World Champion and 2024 Olympian. As a b-girl in a male dominated space, she’s learned how to select her competition outfits for both style and purpose, choosing the details that make her feel confident and don’t distract her while she’s on the floor.
Her essentials include gold hoop earrings, a nose ring and a pair of Nike Cortez or Nike Jams. On the floor, she’ll keep her shoulders and knees covered to make some moves easier and prevent injury. Inspired by New York street style, her breaking wardrobe is made up of cohesive color palettes and thrifted staples.

Logistix is also known for her hair, which serves as an effortlessly cool accessory when she’s off the floor. When she’s breaking, she prefers to tie it low on her head, keeping it out of her face and out of the way when she’s performing high-level power moves. In the event that it comes undone, however, she’s never upset: instead, she feels it adds an extra element of movement to her trademark underground glow.
“I think my hair is part of my style,” Edra shared. “I think it adds to the movement and the silhouette, but I try to keep it up if I can.”
Ahead of the National Cypher, thousands of breakers across the country are packing their own essential gear, ready to show up on Sunday and prove why they deserve a spot in the World Championships.
