It’s an absolute stunner of a week here in Denver as we’re heading fully into spring, and there’s plenty of bangin’ shows to boot! Here are some highlights:
America’s favorite outlaw country star Sturgill Simpson is bringing two full nights of his “Who The Fuck Is Johnny Blue Skies?” tour to the Mission Ballroom on 4/14 and 4/15. A legendary performer who’s considered one of the faces of the new country revival currently taking the music scene by storm, Sturgill’s brilliant songwriting and virtuosic guitar playing provide the leading light for what’s guaranteed to be a very special set of shows. And don’t forget Sturgill’s wise words: “If you’re on time, you’re late!”
There’s one hell of a Thursday throwdown happening at the Hi-Dive on 4/10, as Mean World Records is bringing some of their finest talent to the stage to celebrate their birthday. They’ve got Shady Oaks, RUGBURN, Tarantula Bill and In Plain Air all showing up to rage, so you know this will be an absolute rager of a show—go ahead and call out of work for Friday, this one’ll be worth it.
The excellent English electronic producer Elderbrook returns to Red Rocks for his second headlining set in as many years on 4/12 with Hugel and Vandelux keeping the vibes high from the get-go. A famed performer known for his incredible vocals and lush soundscapes, this show will be the place to be on Friday night.
