This Week In Concerts — Dream Theater, Gramatik, Oh He Dead, Talib Kweli and More

It’s a beautiful week here in the Denver metro! Weather’s getting better, days are about to get longer, and we’ve got some excellent shows on deck this week—here are my highlights:

Progressive metal giants Dream Theater have arrived in Denver to shred the roof off of the Mission Ballroom on 3/6. They’re celebrating their 40th year as a band together, and the original lineup will be on stage to melt faces for a full evening, including their legendary drummer (and all-around incredible guy) Mike Portnoy. This will be a very special evening, so don’t miss it!

Washington, D.C.’s Oh He Dead are coming to Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox for a fabulous two-night run in celebration of their third full-length album release, Ugly. Known for their high-energy performance and unbelievably soulful grooves, everyone will need to have their dancing shoes on for this one.

The biggest bit of Denver music news this week — Red Rocks is BACK! To kick off the best part of concert season in Denver, the heavy hitters have been called in: Gramatik’s bringing the New York bangers, and he’ll have ZINGARA, The Funk Hunters ft. Chali 2na and The Sponges all with him to keep Red Rocks plenty warm no matter how cold it might be out there.

Get out there and see some shows this week! The rest of the concerts are down below, and as always stay in the know about Denver’s music scene with 303 Magazine.
