Recommended: 4th Ave w/ Elle Winter, Aja9 @ Larimer Lounge

To kick this week’s concert schedule off, we’ve got a modern day boy band coming to Denver. On Monday, 4th Ave is taking over Larimer Lounge and bringing their b-boy chops with them. Late last year, 4th Ave released their new EP Winter Break which includes five pop-oriented tracks to get you ready for their performance. Fellow artists Elle Winter and Aja 9 are joining 4th Ave as they make their way into Denver this week.

If you’re looking for some hard rock music to check out this week, we’ve got the perfect show for you. On Tuesday night, industry veterans Corrosion of Conformity ventures into Denver to take over The Gothic. Ever since the mid-’80s, Corrosion of Conformity shares their classic hard rock sounds all over the world and continue to release content to this day. Last year, the band released their most recent album No Cross No Crown. Fellow bands Crowbar, Weedeater and Mothership are on the bill for the evening as well.

On Wednesday night, Bar Standard is hosting the electro-indie group STRFKR as part of their weekly STEAM Wednesday showcase. STRFKR’s sound is a brilliant mixture of electronic and indie music that simply puts you in the mood to dance. If you’re looking for some killer local talent to check out this week, this will be the show to see. On Thursday, local singer-songwriter Emilie Brandt is taking over Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox. Brandt is one of Colorado’s up-and-coming talents to keep your eye on as her talents can speak for themselves on tracks such as “Found the Feeling” and “Grey.” If you haven’t checked out one of Brandt’s shows, this will be the perfect chance to check her out. Fellow artists PHIE and Alden Groves are on the line-up for Thursday night as well.

To end the work week this Friday, the legendary reggae band The Wailers are taking over The Gothic. Back in the day, reggae legend Bob Marley was the keystone of The Wailers and ever since his passing, The Wailers have kept his legacy alive. Hits such as “I Shot The Sheriff” and “Get Up, Stand Up” are just some of the many songs in The Wailer’s catalog. Fellow reggae band Rastasauris is joining The Wailers on their Denver stop this Friday night.
