This Week In Concerts – 888, Annie Booth, Spectacle, Black Pistol Fire and More

There are so many more concerts to see this month as we head into the second full week of January. This week in concerts includes shows that tackle everything from jazz to EDM which means there’s bound to be something out there for everyone. Below is an extensive list for you to use at your disposal to get out and explore all the music that Denver has to offer.

Monday, January 7

Cervantes’ Other Side is hosting a stacked line up to kick this week in Denver concerts off on Monday. The Burn Unit along with a plethora of other guests from big-name bands including DJ Williams of Karl Denson’s band, Jeremy Salken from Big Gigantic and Eric Luba from Analog Son are taking over The Other Side at Cervantes’ in what will be one hell of a show. On top of the already heavy line up mentioned above, fellow artists Jessica Jones, ScHratcH, AJ Salas, Brisco Jones, Brant Williams and Eric Imbrosciano are on the line up for Monday night as well.

Tuesday, January 8

On Tuesday night, Gestalt will be taking over Larimer Lounge. Gestalt is an indie-rock band out of Denver whose sound is groovy and falls more on the heavy side of the indie genre. The gents of Gestalt sent 2018 off the right way on December 31 with their most recent three single release titled do i look lovely, which includes some great recommended listening to get yourself familiar with their work. Fellow artists Riley!, Meliora and Tonguebyte are also on the bill for Tuesday evening as well.

On Wednesday night, local jazz icon Annie Booth is headed over to Nocturne. Booth has been on the Denver jazz scene for many years and is not only a name that keeps popping up around the city but is one of the best working jazz musicians in the scene today. On Wednesday night, you have the chance to see her in action along with her trio as they pay tribute to The Beatles at Nocturne.

Thursday, January 10

If you’re looking for some local EDM this week, we’ve got just the show for you to check out. On Thursday night, local EDM trio Spectacle is taking over The Bluebird. Spectacle, comprised of Jessica Borth, Michael Mahan and Rob Brandon, are known for their diverse skills as musicians and bring some really unique elements to the playing field. Fellow artists Beak Nasty, Jordan Polovina and Tortuga are joining Spectacle as they gear up for their show on Thursday night.

To wrap the work week up on Friday, we’ve got some rock music in store for you. Black Pistol Fire is headed into the Mile High City to take over The Gothic Theatre. Earlier this month, Black Pistol Fire released a new single titled “Level” which is a great song to stream if you’re completely new to their sound. Fellow artists The Guestlist and Pink Fuzz are joining Black Pistol Fire as they make their way to The Gothic Theatre this Friday night.

Even if you wait for the week to be over, there is still some more killer local talent lined up for you this weekend. On Saturday night, local pop-rock band 888 is gearing up to headline The Marquis Theater. In 2018, 888 released their debut album titled Everybody Can’t Complain which includes seven tracks to give you a taste of what their sound is like. Fellow bands Nightlove and Kill Paradise are on the bill for Saturday night as well, so grab some tickets while you still can and treat yourself to some Denver based talent this weekend.

To wrap this week in concerts up, singer-songwriter Laura Gibson is headed into Denver to take over Larmier Lounge. Gibson is no stranger to the music scene as the singer-songwriter has been on the rise since 2006 with her debut album If You Come to Greet Me. Late last year, Gibson released another full-length album titled Goners which features ten stellar tracks that display this musician’s talent. Fellow artist Stelth Ulvang is joining Gibson on her stop at Larimer Lounge.
