The Lowdown: Mirus Gallery Denver presents A Taste of Brooklyn. The event features a fashion show inspired by Brooklyn style. The runway showcases nine different designer’s lines with over 75 local models strutting their stuff. You can jam out to a live DJ blasting out Brooklyn style beats, sip on New York theme cocktails and more.

FemYoga

The Lowdown: The Feminine Collective presents FemYoga. The event features a night of yoga, music, healing and more. You can participate in a 50-minute yoga session with Thug Yoga, dance to beats from DJ CYN and peruse vendors in a pop-up. The ticket price includes the yoga class, a self-cleansing ritual and one drink. If you are one of the first 50 people to check in, you can also snag a gift bag.

Taps and Tails

The Lowdown: Denver Zoo presents Taps and Tails. The event features a night at the zoo to explore the animals with local sips in hand. You can taste from local bites, jam out to a performance from Will Champlin and his band and more fall fun. The night is hosted by comedian Janae Burris.

Mortified Live!

The Lowdown: Mortified Live! is back in Denver. The event features a touring show with adults sharing their embarrassing stories, poems, diaries and more. The Lowdown: Denver Design Week returns to Denver for a week filled with innovation, learning and design. You can attend panels from more than 50 different presenters, such as Julien Fentress of Fentress Architects, Joyce Hsu from Facebook and industrial designer Michael McCoy. The week starts with an IGNITE program.

Meet the Carters

Napoleon Dynamite

The Lowdown: REI Denver teams up with HBO to host a screening of the pilot of the new television series Camping. The show presents a story of Kathryn and Walt, who have planned a camping trip to celebrate Walt’s 45th birthday, that meets interesting twists and turns. Following the screening, you can participate in a Q&A with Ione Skye, an actress in the show and Chris Parente, the host of FOX31’s Everyday Show.

REI Rocktober Climbing Festival

The Lowdown: REI Denver hosts REI Rocktober Climbing Festival. The event features a climbing party with climbing vendors, a 5.13 climbing competition, music and more. You can grab a beer from Avery Brewing Company, listen to a presentation by Jonathan Siegrist — a pro-climber — and raise funds for the Front Range Climbing Stewards. You can also take part in vendor clinics, snag giveaways and participate in a silent auction.

Pupusa Festival

20th Annual Fright Fest Pet Parade

The Lowdown: Elitch Gardens presents the 20th Annual Fright Fest Pet Parade. The event features a parade of adorable animals dressed up in their best Halloween costumes. The Lowdown: The Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce partners with OUT FRONT to present the 20th Annual Power Gala. The gala celebrates Colorado’s LGBTQ+ community and those who have strived to advocate for LGBTQ+ needs and rights. The gala is hosted by Pandora Boxx and Kasha Davis, two former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants.
