Video games are becoming reality. A Mario Kart-inspired racing competition, Mushroom Rally, is coming to Denver and other select US cities next year. This unique experience will fill you with nostalgia whether you’re a fan of the original Super Mario Kart or the newest Mario Kart 8. Details are scarce, but here’s what we know so far.

Mushroom Rally is an Australian-born karting experience that’s becoming international by visiting prominent cities, including Denver and Los Angeles. They are currently selling tickets for locations within the United Kingdom. According to a press release, the event will happen early next year but no exact date has been announced.

Participants have the chance to dress up as their favorite characters, but costumes will also be provided if you don’t have a Princess Peach or Mario outfit lying around. They will get to zoom their way to first place and have the chance to win multiple prizes the day of the event. One winner from each city will also be able to battle it out in Las Vegas for the final race and grand prize.

Unlike Japan’s famous Mario Kart inspired street-race competition, MariCarMushroom Rally will take place off the streets in a custom-made, themed racetrack (location is also TBA).

Tickets include 30 minutes of racing and a costume if needed. Although ticket prices haven’t been determined, they are are limited — only allowing 600 participants per city. So make sure to enter your details in the sign-up box on their website to heighten your chances of becoming a lucky participant for this whimsical experience.
