Although the summer months are slowly coming to an end, there is still plenty of time to have some fun exploring the Denver concert scene. As always, this week in Denver concerts includes a wide variety of genres at a wide variety of venues. It’s crazy to think that August is almost over, but it’s more reason to get out there and have some fun, especially before the outdoor venues wind down their summer schedules.
Monday, August 20
Recommended: Niall Horan w/ Maren Morris @ Red Rocks
On Monday, former One Direction member Niall Horan is taking his solo act to Red Rocks. Horan began his solo career last year with the release of his debut album Flicker. This is Horan’s first show at Red Rocks and you have the chance to be a witness. Joining Horan on his Red Rocks debut is fellow artist Maren Morris. Tickets are still available for this show, so grab a pair while you still can.

To keep moving right along on Tuesday, Sam Smith is headlining at Pepsi Center. Smith has an extensive catalog of hit songs over the course of his career. Songs such as “Stay With Me” and “Too Good at Goodbyes” often come to mind when the soulful vocalist’s name comes up. Fellow musician Beth Ditto is set to open for Smith as they both make their way into Denver.

On Wednesday and Thursday night, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats are coming home to Colorado as they return to the Red Rocks stage for a two-night run. Although not born in Colorado, Rateliff considers Denver his hometown, and he’s certainly become a point of pride for the city. Joining Rateliff on Thursday night is Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, making this a great showcase of Colorado talent at Red Rocks.
