This Week In Concerts – Father John Misty, Trayce Chapman, Summer Jam, Velorama and More

We are officially entering the halfway point for the month of August, which is hard to believe. School is either already in session or at least approaching and fall is right around the corner. Although there will be plenty of Denver concerts in the coming months, the summer concert season doesn’t last forever. Before your fall schedule starts to pile up, treat yourself to any one of the 100+ concerts going on in the Mile High City this week.

Monday, August 13

To kick things off this Monday, venture down to the Soiled Dove Underground and catch Funky Feat in action. Funky Feat (better known as Little Feat) started all the way back in 1969 and is composed of members Paul Barrere, Fred Tackett, Kenny Gradney and Gabe Ford. Funky Feat brings elements of blues rock, Americana and folk together to produce a wide variety of songs and sounds.

Since 1980, singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams has released an extensive catalog of well-known songs in her soft-country rock style. The same story goes for Steve Earle as well as Dwight Yoakam. On Tuesday, all three of these songwriting legends are teaming up to headline Red Rocks. Joining this stacked line up is fellow artist King Leg, making this a show that will take you back to the country-rock side of the ’80s.

Back in June of this year, Tillman released his most recent album God’s Favorite Customer. For Father John Misty’s 2018 Red Rocks run, he is bringing along rock band TV On The Radio.
