Attention — you may want to take a seat for this because it’s going to be a doozy (and we’re not talking about Grandoozy). Now in its 18th year, The Underground Music Showcase (UMS) — the Rocky Mountain’s largest indie music festival — has released its lineup today. Returning to South Broadway from July 27 through July 29, UMS now headed by Two Parts, will once again make Denver the place to be this summer. Featuring more than 175 artists across a multitude of genres, this year’s festival will be headlined by Toronto-based Alvvays alongside BJ the Chicago Kid, Frankie Cosmos and Classixx. Joining the party is a plethora of primarily local and regional bands across the many venues lining the street.

Speaking on the return of the fest since switching hands from the Denver Post, Tobias Krause of Two Parts couldn’t be more thrilled for its return:

“UMS is the perfect representation of the multiverse of incredibly talented bands from in and around the Denver Metro area, showcasing everything we’ve got to offer here. South Broadway is the perfect backdrop for this sort of festival. The corridor is full of energy, grit and character, which is what makes the Underground Music Showcase so special.”

Besides the music portion of the festival, attendees can look forward to new art, panel discussions, comedy, podcasts and craft beer stages as well as a special installation from us here at 303 Magazine.

Dubbed The Underground, we will host unique experiential moments in various locations inside the festival, all for attendees to spontaneously discover. Whether it’s a pop-up restaurant or exclusive performances and parties, The Underground is designed to be an “Easter egg” of possibilities that you can only experience while attending UMS. (Want in? While more specific information regarding additional acts, stages and maps etc. will be announced closer to the festival, pre-sale tickets are on sale now for $35, after June 14, at 10 a.m, prices will increase to $75.  Weekend tickets include general admission access to any show, any stage, throughout the entire weekend long. After pre-sale, single day passes will be available for $40.
