For Colorado’s ski resorts, it has not been the whitest of winters.

Early this week, temperatures dropped nearly 50 degrees following summer-time temperatures on Sunday when we received arguably, the first real winter storm all season. In light of the snow gods delivering plenty of fresh powder Monday, Amtrak and the Winter Park Resort are offering discounted $29 tickets for every remaining seat on both Winter Park Express round-trips this Saturday and Sunday. This sale begins today and ends tomorrow at 8 a.m., so we’d advise jumping on this opportunity while it’s hot.

With Amtrak’s Winter Park Express you can the skip mountain traffic with one way or round trip rides from Denver’s Union Station to the platform right at Winter Park. And save money while you’re doing it because until tomorrow at 8 a.m., tickets are being sliced from the usual $118 round-trip to a cool $29 one-way.

In addition to discounted tickets, Winter Park is also hosting the National Sports Center for the Disabled’s Wells Fargo Ski Cup this weekend. The event will give guests a chance to watch some of the best Paralympics from around the world compete before they head to Pyeongchang for the Paralympic games on March 8.

With the dry winter that we’ve been experiencing, the fresh powder is sure to have Denver dwellers jumping in their cars and heading for the slopes. Save time and money with Amtrak and Winter Park this weekend here.

Editor’s note: we have updated the article to clarify the reduced ticket price is for a one-way trip, not round trip.
