Pop icon Paula Abdul is set to kickoff of a massive national tour, The Total Package, beginning May 12 and concluding on July 16.  The tour will cover 44 cities and will visit the Pepsi Center on June 10, nine days before her 55th birthday.  Her last tour, Under My Spell, took her to Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater in Greenwood Village almost exactly 24 years ago to the day (June 22, 1992).   Abdul’s last tour almost did not happen due to a leg injury, but acupuncture allowed her a fast recovery.  The former American Idol judge has not released a studio album since 1995’s Head Over Heels.

Accompanying her is the classic r&b group Boyz II Men and headlining the tour are former pop sensations New Kids On The Block.  Boyz II Men released their latest album, Collide, two years ago while New Kids On The Block have been rumoring new music for quite some time.  They have even cited the desire to create a new genre they term ‘arena pop.’  The Pepsi Center is the perfect venue to demonstrate what exactly that means, and as the headliners, they will have the time to showcase the idea.  In supplement to the other classic artists, this is sure to be quite an experience. Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at the box office or online here.
