Since the debacle that went down between management of Funk Volume and Hopsin, Hop has taken to a brand new company to release his music through. Undercover Prodigy is the new label that Hopsin has used to release his latest two singles called “Bout the Business” and “Die This Way.” With the promise of a lot new music coming in 2016, Hop is also back on tour for a few select city shows—with Denver’s Cervantes Masterpiece being the stop on June 23, 2016.
Along for the show is a great lineup of extremely talented local artists as well. The opening lineup includes Dassaro, Diviine, RimeS and Reason the Citizen—who we recently featured in our local artist spotlight back in May. Two of these artists—Reason the Citizen and Dassaro, also just flew back from New York City where they represented Colorado to the fullest at the 2016 Mission Underground Showcase hosted by Teambackpack.
After the fallout from his previous label Funk Volume was made brutally public, many fans took sides on the issue, and thus the resulting action fractured the enormous fan base Funk Volume had managed to grow over the last few years. Embracing the changes to the fullest, Hop has been releasing some very good singles since the management change and seems hungrier than ever.
What more could you ask for? A night full of talented local artists, capped off by a national headliner, is sure to blow the roof off of Cervantes Masterpiece.
