Snape-ricot: 2016 Denver Comic Con Beer Release Party

The Low Down: Commemorating the late Alan Rickman is this unique beer release by Denver Comic Con and Breckenridge Brewery. Snape-ricot was named after the deliberation of over 500 name submissions and a popular vote to decide between the five finalists. Featured alongside the beer release this Friday are free performances all night and the opportunity to snag a limited-edition pint glass designed by local artist Frankie Serna.
Pretty in Pink 30th Anniversary Screening & ’80s After Party

The Low Down: 2016 marks the 30th Anniversary of the classic coming-of-age film Pretty in Pink. Sie Film Center is celebrating this landmark moment with a screening of the movie on the big screen followed by an ’80s after party in their bar & lounge. DJ Hollow will be spinning tunes inspired by the Pretty in Pink soundtrack and dancing is encouraged at this reminiscent once-in-a-lifetime film screening.
Rocky Mountain Pet Expo

Gothic Takeover at Lakeside Amusement Park

The Low Down: Besterns 2016 is a weekend-long round-robin tournament between five (mostly local) roller derby teams. The all-star teams of Rocky Mountain Roller Girls, Boulder County Bombers and Denver Roller Derby will be competing in the tournament this weekend. Come out and support your local women’s roller derby league in this not-to-be-missed sports event.
