There’s a little something for everyone among the food and booze events in Denver this week. If you’re up for trying some new bites or food truck favorites, you can head to the Food Truck Carnival. If whiskey is more your style, join Laws Whiskey House for the official release of its Straight Triticum Whiskey. Maybe you want to just kick back and enjoy a cold one—you can do that too at the Sun Drenched Music Fest.

Whatever your hungry heart desires, the Denver food scene is ready for you this week.

Beer + Wine Pair Off

Where: The Nickel, 1100 14th St., Denver

The Low Down: The Nickel kicks off its first Summer Series Beer + Wine Pair Off this Thursday. The night starts with a reception featuring your favorite Nickel appetizers and Dolin Blanc vermouth on the rocks with soda and an orange twist. The three-course dinner by chef Russell Stippich follows, paired with craft beer from Crazy Mountain Brewing Company and wines from Estate Brands Distributing Company. You’ll find crab cakes with smoked hollandaise with shaved celery among the crafted menu.

When: Friday, May 14. 5 p.m.-Sunday, May 15. 4 p.m.

Where: Northglenn City Hall, 11701 Community Center Dr, Denver

Cost: $25 unlimited carnival ride passes

The Low Down: If you’re like most, you’d take any chance to grab some grub from one of Denver’s local food trucks. Well, this weekend they’ll all be in one place at Northglenn City Hall. Meatball, Lobster Bliss, Fire Truck Crepes, Lomito Gourmet, Steuben’s and Sweet Cow are among the 21 food trucks over the weekend. Mix that in with traditional amusement park rides, games and fair concessions, and you’re sure to have a good time. You’ll also hear live music from eight bands representing Colorado’s best Americana and bluegrass music.

Wheat Whiskey Launch

Where: Laws Whiskey House, 1420 S Acoma St., Denver

The Low Down: Come celebrate the release of Laws Wheat Whiskey at their first open house of the year. Laws Straight Triticum Whiskey has been skillfully fermented and distilled with Colorado-grown wheat, and is exceptionally smooth and approachable with fruit, caramel and baking spice notes. Purchase the whiskey at the party and enjoy complimentary tours, $5 bourbon cocktails and $2.50 tacos from True West Tacos food truck.

Monthly Brewers Brunch

Where: The Corner Office, 1401 Curtis St., Denver

The Low Down: Start your Saturday with the Corner Office and Breckenridge Brewery for brunch. Chef Rich Byers has created a four-course menu, each paired with a different Breckenridge beer. You’ll see tangerine marmalade French toast and braised beef gorditas among other selections on the menu. Learn pairing tips and the stories behind each brew while you enjoy a tasty brunch.

Sun Drenched Music Festival

When: Saturday, May 14. 12-8 p.m.

Where: Denver Beer Co. Canworks, 4455 Jason St., Denver

Cost: $40-$100, get tickets here.

The Low Down: Kick off the start of summer with beer and bluegrass this Saturday. Denver Beer Co. will be turning its production brewery and cannery into a beach party, complete with sand, beer balloon fights and beach games. Sip on cool beers while you walk the “boardwalk” and grab bites from some of Denver’s favorite food trucks. Catch tunes from Hot Buttered Rum, Town Mountain, and Rapidgrass Quintet throughout the day. Continue the fun at the official after party at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox.
