If beer is more your thing, consider the drive to Fort Collins for Odell Brewing Company’s Small Batch Revival featuring 40 different brews. For those craving a tasty meal, Rebel Restaurant is having an outdoor pig roast.

World Burrito Eating Championship

When: Tuesday, May 24. 6 p.m.

Where: Illegal Pete’s, 270 S. Broadway, Denver

The Low Down: Illegal Pete’s hosts its World Burrito Eating Competition, and this is your chance to get in on it. The winner from this Tuesday’s preliminary competition will be sent to the main event at Sports Authority Field at Mile High this Saturday. Last years winner, Joey Chestnut, set a new World Record by eating 14.25 pounds of burritos in just 10 minutes. He’ll be there again along with 7 of the top 40 competitive food eaters in the world. The Low Down: Celebrating local ciders and cider-makers, is the Pressed Conference. The inaugural festival showcases Colorado ciders including Compass Cider, C Squared Ciders, Big B’s Cider and Stem Ciders. Dive into the craft cider culture and get unlimited tastes for $40. Live music from Robby Peoples and bites from various local food trucks will accompany the evening. A full tasting glass of Molly’s Barrel-Aged Cider from Colorado Cider Company will greet guests upon arrival.

The Low Down: Making its return from 2012, Small Batch Revival is back for 2016. Join Odell Brewing as they celebrate innovative brews from their small batch pilot system. The event will feature 40 different beers including Friek Tequila Barrel Aged Double Pilsner, Russian Pirate, Extra Special Red, and Wooden Tusk. Local food trucks such as Mac’N, The Taco Stop and The Goodness will be serving up grub. Enjoy live music from Colony Funk, Keys and D’s, and Constant Tourists on Saturday and Canyon Creek Band, Naa Mean, and The Yawpers on Sunday.

The Slaughter

The Low Down: Head over to Rebel Restaurant this weekend as they cook up their first outdoor pig roast. They’ll be roasting pig, lamb and goat along with some tasty sides. TRVE  Brewing will be providing the beer and purchase of a ticket includes one plate of food with three sides, and two brews. There will be cocktail specials and a DJ spinning beats for the night. Top it all off with ice cream sundaes and it’s bound to be a killer night.
