Opening Day at Avanti and 5 Other Food & Booze Events This Week

This Friday, downtown Denver will be painted purple for the Colorado Rockies home opener at Coors Field. Along with the game comes the food and booze specials. Spend the afternoon at Avanti or head over to Denver Beer Co. for a limited release brew. Let this be your guide for not only game day, but your weekend. There are some fun things happening, so take a look.

TAG Guest Chef Dinner

When: Tuesday, April 5. 6 p.m.

Where: TAG Restaurant, 1441 Larimer St., Denver

The Low Down: Head over to TAG this week for a five-course chef’s dinner. Chef-owner Troy Guard of TAG hosts chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley, Season 13 Top Chef contestant and executive chef of Roofers Union Restaurant & Bar and Ripple in Washington D.C. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception with appetizers before the dinner. Treat yourself to a night of incredible food this Tuesday.

Where: Avanti F&B, 3200 Pecos St., Denver

The Low Down: If you haven’t checked out Avanti yet, let this be your excuse to do so. The food hall has happy hour all day for the Colorado Rockies’ Home Opener this Friday. Sip on cocktails and grab some food from one of seven different restaurant concepts. Within walking distance of Coors Field, Avanti should be on your game day agenda.

Opening Day Bottomless Brunch & Bloody Bar

When: Friday, April 8. 10 a.m-2:30 p.m.

The Low Down: Let brunch and Bloodys be your perfect pre-game fuel this Friday. Enjoy unlimited small plates such as bacon fried rice or chorizo benedict and craft your perfect Bloody Mary from the bar with over 30 fixings and hot sauces. Not a big fan of Bloody Marys? Unlimited brunch cocktails like sangria, mimosas and margaritas are also included in the $39 deal.

The Low Down: Denver Beer Co. has aged its favorite Graham Cracker Porter on American Oak with vanilla and cacao nibs, and the result is one you’ll want to taste. The Cocoa Cream Graham Cracker Porter is a rich, flavorful brew nuanced with chocolate, vanilla, and a creamy finish. You can purchase a 22-ounce bomber of the brew this Friday and if you’re one of the first 100 to do so, you’ll have the opportunity to make your own s’more on the patio campfire. Hang out and enjoy this bold, yet deliciously approachable limited time brew.  

Uncorked Wine Tasting

When: Friday, April 8. 6-9 p.m.

Where: Denver Art Museum, 100 W 14th Ave Pkwy, Denver

Cost: $100 members, $135 non-members. Get tickets here

The Low Down: Sip on wines from all over the world at the 16th annual Uncorked Wine Tasting this Friday. Featuring more than 300 wines, guests will also enjoy bites from Kevin Taylor Catering and a silent auction. Designated driver tickets are available and all proceeds benefit the Denver Art Museum’s exhibitions and programming.
