Five Food & Booze Events to Attend in Colorado This Week

Whether you’re well rested or still recovering from the weekend, there are some casual, yet flavorful food and booze events happening around the Mile High City this week. Start your week with a three-course beer dinner, then head to the Marquis Theatre for a new brew. Once you’ve made it to the weekend, get outside with Left Hand Brewing or enjoy a inspired dinner at Beast + Bottle. Whatever your schedule calls for, check out one of these events to attend in Colorado this week.

Rhein Haus Beer & Food Pairing with Ratio Beerworks

When: Monday, March 7. 7-8:30 p.m.

The Low Down: Mingle and meet other beer lovers in a family-style dining atmosphere this Monday. Sip on three different pours from Ratio Beerworks and enjoy a carefully crafted dinner from Rhein Haus executive chef Eric Hiob and bier curator Scott Mckinney. Keep your ticket for early VIP access to the following Wednesday’s tap takeover.

New Belgium Presents a Citradelic Experience

The Low Down: New Belgium Brewing Company celebrates the release of its Citradelic Tangerine IPA this Thursday. Larry and His Flask, Champagne Charlie, and Hangman’s Hymnal will bring the tunes for a night of good beer and good music for only $12.

Upslope Brewing + Spirit Hound Distillers Collab Tapping

When: Friday, March 11. 5:30 p.m.

Where: Falling Rock Tap House, 1919 Blake St., Denver

Price: $7.50

The Low Down: In 2013, Spirit Hound Distillers’ inaugural straight malt whiskey was produced at Upslope Brewing Company. Six barrels survived the historic flood in September 2013 and were filled with a special limited-run Upslope beer in 2015. Now ready for sipping is the collaboration’s Scottish-style ale. Get your taste of the ale at any of the keg tapping events throughout Colorado this week, or catch the last drops at Falling Rock Tap House on Friday.

Hops + Handrails 2016

When: Saturday, March 12. Noon-6 p.m.

Where: Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Ave., Longmont

Cost: $30

The Low Down: Get outside this Saturday with breweries such as Dogfish Head Brewery, Great Divide Brewing Co, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co, and Left Hand Brewing for an epic mix of craft beer, snow and live music. Riders hit a 40-foot ramp and rails competition while the sounds from headliner Sam Bush fill the air. A general admission ticket gets you four hours of unlimited sampling from 60 craft breweries. All proceeds benefit SOS Outreach, Chill, and the LHB Foundation.

David Bowie Musical Chairs Dinner

The Low Down: Beast + Bottle is at it again with its Musical Chairs dinner series, incorporating the team’s love for music and passion for locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. This week, the five-course dinner focuses on the works of David Bowie and each course will be a play on a different track. For example, the “Moonage Daydream” dish features Hawaiian Opah in a pool of silken tofu, served with buttermilk and finger lime. Taste hand-crafted dishes like this and honor a music legend this Sunday.
