How will you spend your Sunday? If you’re like us, it’s with football, food, friends, and booze. Our beloved Broncos are in the playoffs and we must celebrate and cheer accordingly. If you’re looking where or how to spend your gameday, look no further. These Denver bars and restaurants are worthy of your time this Sunday. Enjoy a cold one with us, and GO BRONCOS!

Illegal Pete’s

Where: Multiple Locations

The Low Down: Grab a seat at an Illegal’s Pete this Sunday because the local burrito joint will be hosting an all day happy hour. Granted, the day-long deal happens every Sunday but with the Broncos in the playoff your $4 margarita, $2.50 domestic draft beer or $3.50 select craft beer and free chips and salsa (with bar order) will taste that much better.

Avanti Food & Beverage

Where to eat on Broncos game day, restaurants showing broncos game

Where: 3200 Pecos St, Denver

The Low Down: If you haven’t checked out this collective eatery, you need to. Seven micro-restaurants for food and 20 different beer options leave you with plenty to choose from. Two large bars along with a lounge and dining area make Avanti a great place for game day. Reservations are accepted for parties of 10 or more, so make that call. (720) 269-4778

Cherry Cricket

Cherry Cricket

Where: 2641 E 2nd Ave, Denver

The Low Down: It was only right to include this Denver icon on our game day list. Grab one of the best burgers in town and cheer on your team this Sunday. With so many booze, beer, and burger options, you won’t be disappointed. Cherry Cricket happy hour is daily from 3-6 p.m.

Punchbowl Social

Punch Bowl Social Lowry,

Punch Bowl Social

Where: 65 Broadway, Denver
The Low Down: Share a special “Orange is the New Blue” punch on game day this Sunday at Punch Bowl Social. Old Forest Bourbon, Domaine de Canton, lemon juice, apple butter, simple syrup, and pear tea make up this boozy Broncos bowl. Grab something to eat with their $5 “Broncos, Buds, and Brats” special including your choice of Bud or Bud Light and a bratwurst with sauerkraut and Sriracha beer mustard. Punchbowl’s bowling, ping pong, foosball, and vintage arcade games also make it a great stop for game day.

Elway’s

Where to eat on Christmas Denver 2015

Elway’s at the Ritz

Where: 1881 Curtis St.

When: 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Cost: $32 per person (includes one drink)

The Low Down: Fill your anxious belly with Elway’s Game Day Brunch Buffet. Classic brunch favorites like scrambled eggs, bacon, and french toast will be served along with an omelet station where you can have your eggs prepared to your liking. Kick back and sip on a specialty drink – your choice of Mimosa, Bloody Mary, or Bellini. For those not so hungry, a regular a la carte menu will also be offered.

[UPDATE January 13, 2016 at 1:22 p.m: article was updated to reflect that the Broncos brunch is only at the Elway’s downtown location, not Cherry Creek]

Viewhouse Eatery, Bar & Rooftop

Viewhouse Centiennial

Viewhouse Centiennial

Where: 2015 Market St, Denver; 7101 S. Clinton St., Centennial

The Low Down: 46 flat screens alone make Viewhouse a great football headquarters for playoffs. Enjoy $3 Coors Light drafts, $5 Colorado Buffalo Gold Craft drafts, and multiple $5 Jim Beam specialty cocktails. Meet all of your munchie needs with unique game day food platters including veggies, wings, and sliders. Prizes and giveaways will accompany the great views and fun.

Stoney’s Bar & Grill

1398273840Where: 1111 Lincoln St, Denver

The Low Down: Looking to watch the game on a big screen? Stoney’s has you covered with 31 HD TV’s and two 120 inch projection screens. Game day drink specials include $4 Tuaca, Soco, Jack, Jack Honey, and Herradura Silver, $5 Herradura Margaritas and a Finlandia Bloody Mary Bar,  $4.50 Blue Moon pints, and $3.50 Coors Light and Miller Light pints. Take home a small souvenir as all pints will be poured in a Stoney’s cup.

On January 25, the long-awaited list dropped, and sure enough, Colorado is well represented.

The James Beard Foundation, established in 1990, supports the talented people behind the ever-changing food scene of America. Talent, equity and sustainability are the necessary tenets of this award, and we are confident that these semifinalists uphold each one.

In Campbell Scott and Stanley Tucci’s 1996 film Big Night, there’s a scene in which Tony Shalhoub’s character Primo is in the kitchen of his small trattoria, ruminating on the joys of Lasagna Bolognese as the eyes of a rapt love interest dart between the chef and his busy stovetop. “You can’t believe how good this is. And when my uncle, in Rome, at this restaurant, when he makes this,” he begins, before bursting out, “You eat and then you go and you kill yourself, you have to kill yourself. After you eat this, you can’t live!”

This is one of two scenes in the movie in which the ecstasy caused by Italian food gives rise to violent outbursts where threats of murder or thoughts of suicide are only barely presented as hyperbole. In the best of cases, the cuisine is all about passion.

It’s no secret that the Denver fashion scene focuses on being sustainable and RE.STATEMENT is no different. Creator Hannah Le spent 10 months listening to designer’s stories, researching consumer behavior trends and building the online marketplace: RE.STATEMENT. It was created to help small business designers and artists upcycle used clothing into wearable art.

“The reality is that humans have been upcycling for over 30,000 years, it’s time we start putting a label on it and we’re making good use of it,” Le said. “We’ve gone from upcycling for utilitarian purposes to where we are today where we make beautiful, one of a kind art pieces.”

“New year, new me,” – it’s the phrase that makes its rounds every January. Maybe the new year holds no significance to you or maybe this is the year you really are trying to kick old habits and start new ones.

One of the most popular trends people try in the new year is Dry January, where you avoid alcohol for the month following the holiday season. Those taking part in dry January are going all in — 70% of participants this year said they will not be drinking at all this month.

With Denver’s diverse and extensive culinary scene, many locals search for ways to make the most of the unique dining opportunities surrounding them. However, customers often lose the push to try new spots when the price of a good time is more than most are willing to spend.

As ’23 begins, now is not the time to play it safe or resort back to all the same places you visited last week. Instead, the Eat+Drink Denver Pass is the perfect way to broaden your tastebuds and plan a date or night out with friends without breaking the bank.

When it comes to stand-up comedy, “Denver has always been a do-it-yourself scene,” says Denver comic Ben Bryant. With this knowledge, Bryant set out to do just that and started Denver Comedy Underground (DCU). Perceptive Sherlock-like readers might deduce that Denver Comedy Underground would be located underground, and they would be absolutely right.
