Dave Watts & Nigel Hall Wishing Cervantes’ Scott Morrill Happy Birthday at The Other Side

77-elgTuesday night party alert: local legend Dave Watts (The Motet) and nationally acclaimed vocalist and ivory tickler Nigel Hall (Lettuce) are teaming up to throw a funky bash at Cervantes’ Other Side. And what better reason for a midweek shindig (like we need a reason to go out and dance) than Scott Morrill, owner of the beloved venue, celebrating another journey around the sun.

Other talented musicians that will be partaking in this collaborative celebration are Garrett Sayers (The Motet), Ryan Jalbert (The Motet), Kim Dawson (Pimps of Joytime), Mike Tallman (Euforquestra), Jordan Linit (Analog Son), Tanya Shylock (SOS), Fleeb Thomas (O-NEB) and Leah Concialdi (Atomga).

The Motet frontman and drummer Dave Watts is really stoked about the event. “My friends and I, including Nigel Hall and members of The Motet, are extremely excited to be throwing a funky dance party for our man Scott Morrill, owner and booking agent of Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom.

Scott has been a crucial part of the ever expanding Colorado music scene, bringing up bands like The Motet, Lettuce, Soulive, Umphree’s Mcgee and so many more. Please come celebrate his 40th with us as we tear the roof off one of our favorite venues in Colorado!”

We know you have work in the morning, but you’ve got to choose your battles. Tickets are only $10 in advance and $15 day-of. Doors open at 8pm, show starts at 9pm… and, well, it’s Cervantes’ so plan on staying out late.
