Alright, we get it. You have spent the last few days tiring yourself by explaining to your family that butter really IS a carb, and you just want to get out this week and shake it off. As always, your one and only true friend, 303 Magazine, is here to help shine the lights towards some fun sounds and happy times with this week’s The Get Down.

Tuesday night will get the week (as well as the last month of 2015) moving for anyone with a pallet for brightly sewn, upbeat tracks and an infectious chorus. The Ogden brings none other than Lights along with the Mowglis, two closely similar yet wildly contrasting acts, both for the lover in all of you. This show is an early one, so do not miss out due to the early morning grind that Wednesday will bring, and the price is no excuse either. Just $20.00 now, and it only jumps to $25.00 at the door. Be there at 7:00 PM sharp.

The time to Dance Yourself Clean will come on Thursday, with a rockin’ time of killer jams from the premiere decade of the 2000s. The coed, dubstep twosome that is Candyland and the madness behind Blake Mobley’s Tiger Party will be tackling the sounds of the beloved band LCD Soundsystem. Cervantes’ Masterpiece is the home to this triumphant journey, and tickets are only $12.00. Make sure you eat a hearty dinner, this show is supposed to carry on from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, and we all know Cervantes sticks by their word.

Back in Colorado is the hit bass-tasmic man himself, Minnesota. Appropriately bringing the heat to the top club in Denver for heavy bass times, Beta, things should not stay very tame at this little hoedown. Joined by the newly added Space Jesus, Coult 45 and Ghostboy Jones, this is not going to be an early eve. If you were lucky to catch them while they were hot, Beta was offering half price tickets for Cyber Monday, however if not, you will be paying full price like the rest of these womb monkeys.

El Ten Eleven Friday, December 4th @ Bluebird Theater

And then there were.. eleven? That’s Ten Eleven, to you, Denver. The Los Angeles duo will once again grace the stage at the small but ever-wonderful Bluebird Theater this Friday. Fresh off of their newest album, Fast Forward, they should have some treats in store with that double-necked bass. Do not sleep on this one, this show tends to do very well, and you will regret missing the stellar live performance that these two can pull off. Show starts at nine, bring a loved one. (And $15.00)

Elephant Revival Friday and Saturday, December 4th and 5th @ Ogden Theater

If you choose to not embark on the audio journey that is El Ten Eleven, then you better be just down the ol’ Colfax Ave. stomping your feet at Elephant Revival. A band that has grown to be a true gemstone in the Bluegrass community, these five musicians have all seen very eclectic genres on their way here. Gifting the mile-high city with two nights, it would be shame to miss the Nederland natives bring down the house that is the Ogden with their Winter Ball. Friday night opens up with Joe Pugg, while Saturday will kick off with ‘Pert Near Sandstone, and by golly, we just can’t decide which combination would be better. Each night is only $25.00, but that doesn’t include beer money.
