The enthusiasm surrounding the reopening of Casa Bonita appears to be reaching a fever pitch. Its neighbor, Westfax Brewing Co, has released a celebratory lager, and even small signs of activity are being deemed newsworthy.

The iconic venue, originally opened in 1974, became famous for its cliff divers and sopaipillas along with its sprawling themed interior. The cafeteria-style food eventually became a point of derision or a longstanding joke amongst locals who knew better than to eat the stuff even as they gulped margaritas and enjoyed the pageantry.

There is a plethora of unique, genre-bending bass and EDM here in the bass capital of the world — not only from international artists stopping through on massive tours but also multiplying from within the Mile High City itself. In many ways, EDM remains a male-dominated industry, but with even the tiniest amount of exposure and research, you’ll find there is a beautiful and explosive scene of femme creators to explore, especially in Denver.

303 Magazine spoke with five Denver-based women currently crushing making massive waves in the EDM scene. From @notlo.music and @veil_____ @clozeeofficial and @maddy_oneal read on to take a tour of modern femme EDM history.

For Patrick and Victoria Lam, mixing authentic teas and beverages is a way to share their upbringing with many who have barely scratched the surface of tea culture. Drinking bubble tea is an experience for most, with bright colors swimming in flavor and unique tastes that have yet to be replicated.

However, the sibling co-creators opened Tea Street with a different spin and passion for conjoining deep family traditions with modern tastes. And they have done just that, with the help of their Vietnamese and Chinese heritage.
