303 Magazine‘s 11th anniversary is this year, and we’re going all out for the upcoming celebration, The White Party. On Thursday, August 27 at 6 p.m., The White Party will kick off at The Breakers Resort with DJs, live entertainment, specialty cocktails and the last Poolside Fashion Show of the year. This event will also benefit Help Find Kelsie, a charity aimed to “spread awareness of [Kelsie’s] disappearance and to provide information that may be critical to finding her.”
For this runway presentation, we’re enlisting local boutiques that want to showcase their summer-to-fall trends. Come watch poolside and see some incredible fashion, while also supporting the cause.
First up, we’re announcing that Fab’rik, located in Aspen Grove in Littleton, will be presenting. This boutique opened in December of 2014 and offers unique trends in clothing and accessories, and most everything is under $100. We talked to Leslie Clay, owner of Fab’rik Denver, about what to expect from this boutique’s runway segment and more.
Tell us a little about Fab’rik.
I worked in corporate America. While I enjoyed my job, I wasn’t following my true passion. I’m an entrepreneur at heart and felt Denver was a great place for emerging fashion. After mentioning the idea to my husband, I was certain he’d think it was crazy. However, he supported my decision and believed in my dream. When I was researching locations, I noticed that the city offers a lot of boutiques but the surrounding metro area was limited when it came to affordable boutiques. I landed in Aspen Grove because I felt we could reach the fashionistas in the city, but also offer an affordable boutique to the southern metro area as well. Our mission is “high style with heart, no attitude or sticker shock.” In addition to the daily operations of the boutique, we partner with local women’s organizations to host free shopping sprees for women in need. Our first non-profit event is August 20 with Street’s Hope and we hope to host a free shopping spree with different organizations on a monthly basis.
How would you describe the style you sell?
We offer the latest trends and the best basics all under $100 with the exception of a few denim lines. We get new inventory weekly, if not daily, so we are constantly adding in new styles and updating our selection. We want each woman who comes in the store to have a unique piece that doesn’t break the bank. Our goal is to be your go-to spot for whatever you have planned.
How does it stand out from other boutiques?
Our personal stylists and customer service are what sets us apart. We go out of our way to connect with each customer, guide them to the styles they love without the pressure of a sales person. While we offer the latest trends, our team is what stands out for everyone shopping in our store. We have been blessed with the best stylists that truly care about our customers and I’m lucky to share my days with these fantastic ladies!
What is currently in the shop for this season?
This season we are adding a lot of boho items like fringe booties and cross-body suede bags, great staples for layering, tie dye, plaid and statement jewelry. We will focus on versatile pieces that can be worn many different ways. It is important that each piece you purchase from Fab’rik will be an item you have for a long time and you get your use out of it.
Why does Fab’rik want to participate in the Poolside Fashion Show?
We are excited to have the opportunity to share not only our clothes and accessories, but also our styling ability. We are off the beaten path and can’t wait to share the Fab’rik experience with Denver residents that haven’t heard of Fab’rik yet.
What can we expect from your runway presentation?
Great layering and perfect transition pieces all pulled together with unique accessories. We will definitely show a lot of options that can be worn now and into the upcoming winter months.
