Reggae-rock band Coral Thief will headline this week’s Thursday Night Live at the Riviera at the Breakers. These shows have had great turnouts and this week will be no different with this high-energy band from right here in Denver! Sip a refreshing drink and allow the lake views to transport you to a sandy beach in Mexico, Puerto Rico or Kokomo. Don’t miss out on this week’s performance.

We caught up with the guys of the band for a quick Q&A before their show on Thursday, check it out!

Coral Thief: Craigslist is how we all met up and got together. Chris and Dave started the band 5 years ago and Mark and Remy came along in 2013 and 2014.

How would you describe your musical style?

Reggae-influenced rock infused with hip-hop and funk.

Who are some of your musical heroes?

So many! 311, Pearl Jam, Slightly Stoopid, Sublime, RUN DMC, Beastie Boys, The Roots, just to name a few.

Who has the most tattoos?

Mark! Definitely.

Where’s your favorite place to play or just visit outside of Colorado?

Oh that’s easy… anywhere with a beach.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not on tour?

Sleep. We can’t get enough sleep during our downtime.

Favorite bar in Denver?

La Boheim is rad!

Favorite place to grab a bite to eat in Denver?

Benny’s… it’s a Mexican restaurant and tequila bar. It’s so good!

Do you have any crazy tour stories?

Oh yeah. Way too many to tell in one interview.

Are you currently working on any new music album?

We just released Colorado Roots in Dec. on 2014 but are always working on new ideas.

What albums do you currently have on repeat?

Ballyhoo! And Nahko as well.

Why should people come see you guys play at the Riviera? What can they expect?

It is a super high-energy, really fun show. We like to pull out all the stops when we’re back home in Denver. So audiences at the Riviera can expect a real treat. We will also be playing the Freedom Fest in Denver on Friday the 17th and Herman’s Hideaway on Sat the 18th! Come check us out!
