Decibel Magazine Tour Featuring At The Gates and Converge@ Summit Music Hall – Friday, April 3rd

Here on the Metal Meltdown, I know we’ve been classifying a lot of the metal shows coming to Denver recently as being ones you absolutely cannot miss, but in the case of The Decibel Magazine Tour, you absolutely CANNOT MISS this show. Decibel Magazine is the best metal magazine this side of the Atlantic, and this Friday, the fourth iteration of their exclusive tour will be hitting Summit Music Hall with a lineup that’s so stacked, it’s hard not to laugh. They’ve featured great bands in the past, including Carcass and Behemoth, but this year’s edition might be their best yet, boasting a lineup comprised of Pallbearer, Vallenfyre, Converge and the legendary At the Gates. Yes, you read that right. See what I meant when I said you absolutely cannot miss this show? Local favorites In the Company of Serpents will also be opening the night, making this show more metal than your momma’s kettle. Seriously, go to this show.
Who: At the Gates, Converge, Pallbearer, Vallenfyre, In the Company of Serpents

BlackPussy

Black Pussy @ Lost Lake Lounge – Saturday, April 4th

Black Pussy are a band that have gotten a lot of flack for their creative name, but with a little research, you’ll find out that they got the moniker from the original name of the Rolling Stone’s “Brown Sugar,” which was thrown out as the record label deemed it too offensive. With this awesome back story, Black Pussy have been making some killer rock n’ roll, touring the country, and speaking out against racism and sexism. Joining them on this terrific bill are Denver’s awesome, female fronted, Dead Temple, and Cloud Catcher.

Who: Black Pussy, Dead Temple, Cloud Cather

Doors: 8:00 PM/ show starts at 9:00 PM

Cost: $8 in advance, $10 the day of

Metal Injection Presents: Weedeater and King Parrot@ Lost Lake Lounge – Sunday, April 5th

Weedeater are a band that should need no introduction, especially in a city where weed is legal for recreational use. And if you haven’t caught them live yet, you are in for a real treat. Vocalist and bassist Dixie Collins always puts on a stellar and drunkenly staggering performance,  and opening acts King Parrot should be a real treat as well. Be prepared to blaze up for this one if you are a smoker, as it marks the official, metal start of the 4/20 celebration.

Who: Weedeater, King Parrot

Doors: 7:00 PM, show start at 8:00 PM

Cost: $17.00 in advance, $20.00 the day of
