Cervantes’ Grass For That Ass – WhiteWater Ramble is “Pickin’ on Paul Simon”

If you’re a local bluegrass aficionado, you are probably already well aware of Cervantes‘ weekly “Grass for that Ass” Thursday night parties, featuring WhiteWater Ramble and their signature brand of “High-Octane Rocky Mountain DanceGrass.” Based out of Fort Collins, WhiteWater Ramble (WWR) have been touring together for over a decade, “grass-ing” up everything that comes their way.

While in the midst of touring feverishly to promote their new album Roots & Groove, WhiteWater Ramble has maintained their weekly residency at Cervantes’, pickin’ on bands like the Grateful Dead, Ween, Old and In The Way and Bob Marley. This evening WWR will be pickin’ on the one and only Paul Simon. And the following Thursday, April 2, will be the grand finale of the “Pickin’ On” series with “Pickin’ on the 90s.

WhiteWater Ramble has also been playing a Wednesday Winter Residency up in Frisco at Barkley Ballroom, covering the same “Pickin’ On” sets. So if you find yourself in Summit County next Wednesday April 1 (ahem “Gaper Day”), don’t miss their “Pickin’ on the 90s” edition. WWR can also be found playing all over Colorado, from Durango to Buena Vista to Crested Butte, over the next month. You can catch them at Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins on 4/20, pickin’ on Bob Marley (again).

Tonight’s WhiteWater Ramble show is FREE at Cervantes’ Other Side for 21+ before 9pm and only $10 after 9pm. Under 21? Tickets are $10 all night. The doors open at 8pm, with music beginning at 9pm. Opening for WWR will be Denver’s own Chain Station, a 4-piece string band.
