Nothing says romance and love like a good old fashioned metal show, and luckily for us, there are several to choose from on Valentine’s Day weekend. Ditch the overpriced candy and flowers and annoying, crowded restaurants this year to have a truly intimate experience with (or without) your loved one at one of these awesome Denver show.
HELLYEAH @ Summit Music Hall – Sat. February 14th
While they technically fit more into the hard rock category than metal, HELLYEAH will always be considered honorary members of the tribe because Vinnie Paul, famed drummer of Pantera, is in the group. These guys play a southern-tinged, aggressive blend of rock, and will be joined at this show by Like a Storm, a hard rock group from New Zealand, Devour the Day from Chicago and Archer from Santa Cruz. Tickets are as low as $24 in advance, which, while a bit pricey for metal, is certainly a steal for Valentine’s Day entertainment.

Dead Temple @ The Walnut Room – Sat. February 14th
Another option this V-Day is to head down to the Walnut Room in the Highlands to check out some awesome metal in a cozy pizzeria. The show is an anniversary celebration for Hypnotic Turtle Radio, and it will feature Sparkle Jetts, Echo Beds, and more with Denver’s own powerhouse Dead Temple headlining. If you haven’t caught them live yet, they always put on an awesome show, and they should have some newly-designed merch for sale at this event. Tickets are seven to ten dollars in advance or at the door.
