September may officially be here, but that doesn’t mean that there’s any shortage of outdoor events this week in Denver where you can eat, drink and celebrate. Find out where to head this weekend for some end of summer fun, plus check out another new addition to Union Station.

Tour de Fat
Where: City Park in Denver
When: Saturday, September 6th. Registration is at 10am
Cost: FREE, though donations are appreciated and will benefit Bike Denver and The Denver Cruisers. Beer is $5
The Low Down: Get your costume and your bike ready, New Belgium’s Tour de Fat makes its Denver stop this weekend. Join in the bike parade around the city, or just come to enjoy the music, performers, contests, and beer. Feather boas are a plus.
The 10th Annual Denver Food & Wine Festival’s Grand Tasting
Where: Metropolitan State University of Denver Campus, 890 Auraria Parkway
When: Saturday, September 6th, 1-4pm
Cost: General Admission: $95 with additional VIP options
The Low Down: Celebrate this gathering of Denver’s culinary finest at the Grand Tasting event. Taste bites from more than 30 of Denver’s best restaurants, enjoy wine & spirits, and check out demos from award-winning chefs.
Peach and Bourbon Dinner at Central Bistro
Where: 1691 Central Street
When: Thursday, September 18th at 6:30pm
Cost: $75/person
The Low Down: Celebrate the end of peach season at Central Bistro with a 5 course dinner complete with wine and bourbon pairings with each course, bourbon courtesy of Garrison Brothers Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Enjoy unique dishes from Central’s chef Matt Selby like Crispy Skate Wing with Moonshine Peaches and Braised Rabbit Leg. This will be an end of summer culinary treat that should not be missed.
The Denver Flea
Where: Sustainability Park, 2500 Lawrence Street
When: Saturday, September 20th, 12-6pm
Cost: FREE, plus you can get a free craft beet or locally-roasted cup of coffee if you register prior to the event here.
The Low Down: After a successful first event earlier this summer, the Denver Flea returns bigger and boozier than ever thanks to a new partnership with TheBigWonderful. Expect to find over 70 Colorado-based vendors offering everything from food and drinks to vintage jewelry and custom bow ties – plus you can test out some of Denver’s best food trucks at the Denver Flea Food Truck Pavillion.

Mercantile Dining & Provisions
Where: Union Station, 1701 Wynkoop Street
When: Planned opening is September 8th
The Low Down: There may be a lot of new restaurants opening in Denver right now, but one that should be on your short list to check out is this new restaurant/market concept from Fruition’s Alex Seidel. Enjoy a meal made with locally-sourced ingredient, or grab something from the market like salumi, hand crafted cheeses, and house-made preserves.
