303 Weekly Show Round-Up: The Best In Show This Week

Each week we at 303 like to pick some of the most anticipated upcoming shows for the week to preview as highlights. This week we have another impressive round up of shows from the Mad Decent Block Party, to Jack White and Portugal The Man. While some of these shows overlap with one another, they are all incredible artists who should be seen and experienced. Delve into each of these magnificent performers as they grace Denver and its surrounding areas with their presence.

Mad Decent Block Party:

Diplo and friends have taken the Mad Decent Block Party on tour and their stop this week is the Bass Capitol of America. Denver is stoked to be hosting the Mad Decent Block Party at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater this Friday, August 22nd. Mad Decent Block Party will provide a whole selection of musical talent to entertain the crowd, from the lyrical Hip-Hop expertise of Outkast and Riff Raff to the heavy electronic bass music of Flosstradamus, Mad Decent has a plethora of musical tastes with which to satisfy their crowd. This will be one of the more banging parties in the city this Friday so be sure to traverse the crowd for a small taste of the Mad Decent world.

Jack White:

Jack White will be coming to preform for a sold out crowd at Red Rocks this Wednesday, August 20th. Jack White is an incredible musician who is best known for being the front man for The White Stripes, although he has collaborated and worked with many artists across the musical realm. Jack is sure to bring an entire library’s worth of music to Red Rocks on Wednesday, and if you’ve never seen a show with Jack White before, it is a musical journey that will leave you with a desire to continue down that harmonious road.

Phutureprimitive & Kaminanda:

Phuturprimitive is another DJ with a lead on some incredibly trippy and melodic music. He will be coming to perform at The 1Up in Denver on Friday, August 22nd, and is sure to bring some varieties of crazy bass music. While not always heavy with bass, Phuturprimitive brings people back into a musical space where the ethereal is king. Kaminanda is another DJ and producer who creates a lot of special downtempo and trip-hop oriented tracks. This show will be one not to miss if you value the side of electronic music that doesn’t place such a big emphasis on heavy bass to make the music sound good.

Portugal The Man:

Portugal the Man will be reunited with Denver at Red Rocks Amphitheater on Thursday, August 21st, and will be sure to bring nonstop rock action to Red Rocks this week. Portugal The Man will be sure to take you on a musical journey of epic proportions, fluidly swinging you between rock oriented and more melodic tracks. Each set is unique and will bring about an incredible surge of energy in the crowd that is found at very few musical performances.

Ott:

Ott and The All Seeing I will be coming to Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom to throw in a few more crazy tunes before the weekend comes to a close. Ott and his opening artists will be jamming out on Saturday, August 23rd, and are sure to impress with their psychedelic and trip-hop oriented musical tastes. Ott moves all over the electronic music spectrum, spinning sets that takes a hold of the crowd and makes them sway with the rhythm of the music. The vibe is always soulful and filled with melody whenever Ott performs, and this show in Denver will be one that should not be missed. If you’ve never experienced Ott before this will be a show not to miss in Denver this weekend.

Each and every artist that will be performing in Denver and the surrounding areas this week will be sure to bring something special to the table. It would be a shame to let all of this amazing music go unheard so grab your friends and make it out to a couple of these shows this weekend. There is guaranteed to be good music and fun times across the board so you can’t exactly go wrong. Pick and choose at will but definitely go and enjoy some quality live music this week.
