The ability to successfully blend rock and roll jams with electronic-dance music is quite hard to achieve, but Jimkata, the four piece electro-rock band from Ithaca, N.Y., masters that act with ease.
Jimkata’s innovative, fan-funded record, Die Digital, turned heads when it dropped in 2012 and solidified their reputation as a forward-thinking band to pay attention to. The band’s refined “jamtronica” sound is one of a group that has found its voice after years of experimentation, combining influence from artists like MGMT, LCD Soundsystem, Talking Heads and the best of ’90s rock.
Jimkata has begun a national fall tour in support of Die Digital, and will be playing tonight, Nov. 21, at the Bluebird Theater in Denver. Tickets are $15 and the show begins at 9 p.m. Don’t miss them!
