2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid

The 5th annual Boulder Festival of the Arts is showcasing over 100 original American-made works of art this weekend. Those of us who think cars are a work of art will appreciate that fellow American manufacturer, Lincoln, is hosting a ride and drive in conjunction with the festival.

The new Lincoln vehicles involved in the ride and drive are the 2013 MKS, 2013 MKZ Hybrid, MKT and MKX. The Lincoln Personal Drive Experience is located on Canyon by Daphne’s Greek Cafe with the 2013 MKZ on display near Macy’s on 29th Street. An interesting feature of the MKZ includes a retractable panoramic glass roof – a new concept for Lincoln. Arguably the most fuel-efficient hybrid luxury sedan, the car has a 2.0 hybrid engine getting about 41mpg in the city and 36 on the highway. Starting around $35,000, the frame is attractive and smooth with LED head and tail lights and split-wing grille, introduced by the 1938 Lincoln Zephyr (see below.) MKZ engine options for the non-hybrid models include a 2.0 liter, turbocharged 4 cylinder, and a 3.7 liter V6.

Specifically with the Boulder ride and drive, Lincoln is offering a $15 branded gift card to people involved in the Personal Drive Experience. In efforts to support the community, Lincoln will also donate $10 for every personal drive to the Mobile Art Gallery, a foundation that helps bring art to schools around the Denver area.

The Boulder Festival of the Arts will be in full effect during the Lincoln test drives, offering paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, ceramics, glass, wood, and mixed media from about 100 artists from 30 states. Prices in art range from $25 to $30,000 and all artists are on site for the duration of the festival.
