When I think of neon, I think 80’s almost immediately. I picture my green neon skort paired with a hypercolor shirt with the side looped through one of those plastic dodads (how did those even come to be popular anyway?), a bright pink scrunchie and highlighter yellow laces woven threw my high-tops. While I look back and think I probably took the neon fad a bit far, I wasn’t alone. It seems everyone had a loud and proud wardrobe back then.

Fast forward twenty-five years. While soft pastels and more toned down color combos have dominated spring’s color spectrum in recent years, neon is bursting onto the scene this spring, making quite the comeback. But this is not the neon of yesteryear; this is a new neon, one that is chic, sophisticated, tasteful and very welcome.

Here are some of my favorite punchy pieces from my go-to online shopping destination, Piperlime.com.
