Denver Design Incubator is now accepting applications for its Designer In Residence Program for the 2012-13 term. The program, which consists of an intensive two-year curriculum, offers local and regional fashion designers access to production space, equipment, business classes, branding, marketing, merchandising and peer networking opportunities. The overarching goal is to allow aspiring fashion designers to develop a sustainable business in Denver’s growing fashion industry.

Each applicant is required to submit a portfolio and prototypes, and he or she must be able to commit to the two-year program. A panel of eight industry experts will interview and evaluate each applicant, accepting up to five designers for the 2012-13 term. Visit Denver Design Incubator for the entire application submission package, which is due Dec. 1, or call 720.213.6601 for more information.

DDI also is offering a three-week Digital Marketing Strategy course as part of its workshop series. The course will cover the fundamental shifts in today’s changing digital landscape, and provide students with the strategic tools to create a new business in the fashion and apparel industry. Students will deliver (at the close of the course) a vision statement and strategy to include a touch-point map, messaging grid, KPI matrix and a testing/reporting plan. Classes run from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, Wednesday, Dec. 7, and Wednesday, Dec. 14. The three-week course costs $200.
