Rocky Mountin’: Affordable Aspen

Recently I wrote a blog about enjoying Aspen on a budget. In the spirit of the topic I had to say more.

September is one of the best months of the year to visit Aspen. There are many great activities, perfect weather and amazing fall colors soon emerging. This well known jet setters favorite hangout is a beautiful 3 hour drive from Denver. You will want to be sure to take the scenic Independence Pass route during daylight hours.

I recently stayed at the Independence Square Hotel and thought it would be nice to share this gem with you. This cozy hotel is one of Aspen’s best centrally located options for accommodations. Visitors have 28 uniquely decorated units to choose from including a suite with one or two bedrooms. The suite is the only unit that includes a kitchen at this property. Not to worry, continental breakfast is provided. The Independent Square Hotel is very reasonable at as little as $160-$180 per night for a standard room during “off season”. “Off season” starts the day after Labor Day.

Make sure you check out the nice rooftop deck with fabulous views and hot tub. Independent Square Hotel is in the heart of Aspen and steps away from great shopping, dining, entertainment and a plethora of outdoor activities. Check out this website for upcoming roaring fork valley events. aspenchamber.org
