After being closed for renovations, The Kitchen in Boulder will be re-opened for dinner on Wednesday, January 12 at 5:30 pm.
The dining room has been redesigned with new chandeliers and furniture for a cozy ambiance. Most importantly, the newly remodeled bistro dons a kitchen that is doubled in size, which allows room for three more chefs. Chef-Owner, Kimbal Musk, believes that the extra elbow room will not only give the chefs more space to cook, but will bring fresher and more flavorful dishes to his customers.
“Our Farm-to-Table focus really puts pressure on the chefs,” says Kimbal. “Sometimes in the spring and summer we’ll get our produce at 4pm and we need to turn it around for dinner service. In the winter months the extra space will allow us to make food from scratch – from pates to curing our own salumi — and create great dishes even when time is tight.”
But The Kitchen doesn’t stop at the fast, fresh, and fabulous food. The [Upstairs] is a relaxed wine and beer lounge, where you can order from a slimmed down dinner menu or indulge in one of their luscious desserts. You can also stop by for the [Upstairs] tasting hour, which is from 5:30pm-6:30pm daily, or all night Sunday and Monday. Tasting hour features a choice of the restaurant’s most popular appetizers and desserts, red and white wine du jour for $5 and a beer du jour for $3. Can’t decide on just one wine? You can order a flight of three 3 oz. pours for $9.
Just in case you haven’t had enough of The Kitchen: In Spring 2011, The Kitchen will be opening a casual pub-style restaurant right next door to their current location on the west end of Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall.
From handmade gnocchi to Colorado lamb and even a vegetarian dish or two, The Kitchen’s seasonally evolving menu is a crowd-pleaser.
So this week, whether you’re joining them for Tasting Hour after a rough day at the office, or looking to fill your belly with some fresh and organic comforting classics, join The Kitchen in celebrating their new digs.
