On July 10th America’s Next Top Model descends on Denver to audition for their new season, premiering on The CW in September.

All you models looking to audition for this season, the rules for your makeup are simple and will work for model castings in general.

Keep the look simple and fresh. They want to see your natural beauty. The worst thing you can do is arrive with caked on makeup, looking like you are trying to hide some imperfection.

Here’s a great, simple, day look that will work for most people, and not just for those aspiring models out there! It’s very similar to this Cover Girl shoot from last season:

I – Colorado is so dry it is a great idea to start by firstly, applying a moisturizing foundation like Almay’s Pure Blend tinted moisturizer (a great product that won’t cost you an arm and a leg).

II – Follow this up with a matte powder, like MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural.

III – With a natural look such as this, a great way to bring some definition to your features is to bring out those cheekbones. Apply a powder like Bobbi Brown’s Rose shimmer brick, to the apples of the cheeks.

IV – Continuing to add definition to your features, add your favorite mascara (Este Lauder waterproof mascara is a great brand).

V – If you feel the need to add a bit more zap to your look, you can apply Make Up For Ever’s Black Aqua Eyes to the water line. Remember this stage is optional. When going for an audition, confidence is paramount. If you don’t feel completely confident without eyeliner then use it.

VI – Use a lip gloss like Jane Iredale’s PureGloss in “Candied Rose”. There’s no need for any lip liner as the gloss gives you a beautiful soft glossy lip that won’t leave you looking “overdone”.

VII – Put a clear brow gel on your well groomed brows – this will help keep them in place all day. Fill them in with a bit of brow powder if needed. MAC Omega is a great neutral brow color.

VIII – You can hit your eyelids with a touch of the mineralize powder to even out the tone, or add a touch of bronzer on your lid if it feels too “nude” for you. But be sure to keep things simple. This is one time where less really is MORE.

And that’s it! You’re ready for your close-up. Remember, a natural, almost nude look is the way to go. It leaves room for that stellar personality and charisma of yours, to shine through all on its own!
