Last weekend was the epic music festival known as Coachella. The three day music festival in Indio, CA is just as much about the fashion as it is about the music. I love seeing what “artistic” ladies wear to the annual event and how they put looks together. It usually involves vintage, is sometimes weird and is always creative. If SXSW is like going to the Junior Prom, Coachella is most certainly like going to the Senior Prom. It’s a style exposure step up and one is expected to dress with total originality.

That being said, this year I noticed some apparent, overlapping trends. Denim shorts were a favorite fad at the festival. Paired with anything from bikini tops to crop tops to crochet vests, denim dominated. Printed dresses, mostly belted, were also donned in abundance. The whimsical frocks were paired with combat boots or short, flat boots for some edge.

In terms of accessories, cross body bags were seen in all shapes and sizes. They are absolutely a spring must-have. Floppy hats provided shade and a bohemian flare. And, wing-tipped sunglasses kept the vintage vibe consistent.
