07/20/2012 – Global Dance Festival @ Red Rocks Amphitheater – Day 1

The first night of the 2012 Global Dance Festival proved to be an intense introduction of what's in store this weekend for global fans and partiers alike. On the main stage Axis of Evil jumped in early to energize the early birds and set the scene for those just arriving. Dancers and stilt walking mimes hit the pit to rally up excitement. Tangle & Mateusz got on board to battle the heat on the Global Bass stage along with the vibrantly dressed and growing crowd. As the sun settled down the bass went up and so did the various glowing gadgets scattered throughout the amphitheater. Glow sticks, wands, glasses, shirts, and a ton of other accessories took over the darkness as red rocks settled into its preferred setting of night fall. The stages throughout the venue were not shy of putting on their own glow show as well. As Ecotek took control cascading dubstep and electronics throughout the park, an intense light show backed up captivating imagery projected throughout a dozen or more screens on stage. Disco ball man blended In well while dancing throughout the night on stage. The peak began to take hold as Krewella and Knife Party plugged everything in and let loose. Batteries and liquid gels were draining but the flickering crowd continued to hold on and give it their all for Steve Angello's finally set.
