Before it was Red Rocks and now its Denver International Airport (DIA) stepping up its food game.

The massive aviation hub is planning some huge additions. From restaurants to shops, it’ll bring in a slew of hot brands to the mezzanine of Concourse B. Among them are Shake Shack and Snooze to name a few according to The Denver Business Journal. DIA’s Shake Shack location will be the state’s third — the first opening in the River North district  (RiNo) on March 21 and the second in Highlands Ranch. Also to be added to the DIA mix is Hacienda Colorado and Osteria Marco, an offshoot of the Larimer Square location operated by Denver restaurateur Frank Bonanno. However, these changes to DIA still require Denver City Council approval so don’t get too excited yet. If the approval goes through some of the restaurants may open by the end of the year, with others opening in 2019. No word yet on the exact arrival of each particular spot.

Also announced today are the special menu items coming to Shake Shack RiNo. The two new frozen custard concretes are the “Pie Oh My” and “Glazed Dazed Donut.” The Pie Oh My is a blend of vanilla with seasonal pies from local shop The Long I Pie Shop, and the Glazed Dazed Donut features salted caramel sauce drizzled into a vanilla custard, mixed with chocolate toffee and Denver’s Glazed and Confuzed banana bread doughnuts. In addition to the custards, there will be a Colorado-exclusive Green Chile CheddarShack, which is a cheeseburger topped with marinated green chiles. To wash it all down, the location will serve beer from Ratio Beerworks, Great Divide Brewing Company, Denver Beer Co., Funkwerks and Odell Brewing Co.

Between DIA, Red Rocks and all the new Shake Shacks — get ready for a year filled with openings and tons of eating.
