New Red Rocks Shows – Gregory Alan Isakov, Post Malone, Sarah McLachlan and More

Post Malone fans can rejoice because this summer he will be touring with 21 Savage and SOB x RBE, including a Red Rocks stop on Wednesday, May 2. The tour kicks off on April 26 in Portland, Oregon and moves across the U.S., ending June 24 in San Fransisco.  Post gained popularity in 2015 with his single release, “White Iverson,” leading to a record deal with Republic Records and a recording session with Savage 21 that resulted in “Rockstar”— a number one song on the Billboard Hot 100. SOB x RBE and ProdbyParis will accompany the two rappers on most of the tour.

On Friday, Post is set to release a new single, “Psycho” from the album Beerbongs & Bentleys. Though the album was supposed to be released in December 2017 and pushed to the beginning of this year, Malone apologized to fans saying “I need to make sure this album is perfect for you.”

This past New Year’s Eve, Post Malone, Young Thug, Migos and more had to move their Red Rocks party to the Magness Arena. For those going to the show and for Post Malone, it must have been a tease to almost play at the iconic amphitheater. With the May tour date, it is much less likely to be impacted by weather (though it will once again say ‘rain or shine’). The Grammy award-winning singer Sarah McLachlan just announced a summer show at Red Rocks where she will be performing with the Colorado Symphony. For anyone born in the ’90s, it’s no mystery that this is a can’t-miss show. McLachlan is a superstar, to say the least. With multiple Grammy awards, multiple platinum hits and millions of albums sold internationally, the Canadian hailing singer-songwriter has been dominating popular music since her first album Touch in 1988.

Her performance of “I Will Remember You” won McLachlan her third Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 2000 and since, she has only continued to dominate. From performances with industry giants like Stevia Nicks to Cat Stevens and Neil Young to an Academy Award nomination for the single “When She Loved Me,” on Toy Story 2’s soundtrack, this domineering female vocalist defines stardom. And for anyone who has cried their eyes to the animal cruelty commercial, her July performance to the place to be (PSA, bring tissues.) Her ninth and most recent studio album Wonderland, released in 2016 received a Grammy nomination for the best traditional pop vocal album and though she has slowed down her industry presence, McLachlan remains a force to be reckoned with.

July 4 at Red Rocks has been a Blues Traveler tradition for over two decades now, and it doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon. This year, Blues Traveler will once again grace the stage, surrounded by fireworks from all over the Front Range (including Boulder.) G. Love & Special Sauce and The Wailers will accompany the group for a night of chill grooves. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 23 with a presale February 22 and will be available here.

Last but certainly not least, Colorado native and Denver favorite Gregory Alan Isakov will return to Red Rocks this year. The announcement comes shortly after the news on Isakov’s involvement with the Colorado compilation record 303 Music Vol. 1 benefitting Youth on Record. Last year, Isakov played two nights at Boettcher Concert Hall with the Colorado Symphony. This time around he’s returning sans the symphony and with his full band. Opening support will be delivered by Patty Griffin. Tickets go on sale February 23 at 10 a.m. with a presale on February 22 at 10 a.m. and will be available here.
