Folk-rocker Father John Misty announced today his return to Red Rocks on August 15, 2018.  Last year, the micro-dosing musician performed at the same venue with opening support from Built To Spill. This time around, he’s bringing with him Brooklyn rockers TV On the Radio.

Father John Misty (real name Josh Tillman) released his first independent record in 2006, not long before joining Fleet Foxes for the next three years as a drummer. He’s been solo since leaving Fleet Foxes in 2012 having worked on a variety of solo projects including Father John Misty. Tillman recently won a Grammy in January for his third Father John Misty album, Pure Comedy. Now, he’s back with this show announcement and a new single titled “Mr. Tillman.” Refusing to leave the headlines, Tillman is known for thriving off controversy. During a makeshift Grammy acceptance speech at a show in Australia, he thanked FlatEarth.com, said “fuck society” and claimed the government is a “criminal organization.

Tickets go on sale March 1 at 10 a.m. and will be available here.

Editor’s Note: A previous version of this article stated Jenny Lewis opened Father John Misty’s last Red Rocks show. The article has been updated to reflect that Lewis canceled and was replaced with Built To Spill.
